Luzuko Sabelo Koti was an iconic broadcaster who became an unforgettable name in the South African community. He sadly passed away from leukaemia earlier this year.
Over the years, Luzuko built a brand and reputation for himself across many public spaces serving in numerous roles as a broadcaster on Umhlobo Wenene FM, Spokesperson at the Mandela Foundation, and Business Manager at Channel Africa.
Luzuko (47) passed away on Human Rights Day, annually commemorated on 21 March, after a short battle with leukaemia. His death was a major shock to those who knew and interacted with him, including his family, friends and expansive social media followers and the general public.
To build his legacy, his family and friends partnered with DKMS Africa to launch the #SABELO campaign to create awareness about leukaemia. Sabelo was his middle name, which means ‘a share of’ something.
