When you register as a potential blood stem cell donor, you are added to the stem cell registry and are on standby to save the life of anyone in need of a blood stem cell donation. Many people are inspired to register after seeing the story of a particular patient, but it is important to understand and be comfortable with that fact that you could be a match for anyone, and that you could be their best hope of survival. We ask that everyone that registers is prepared to donate to anyone who they are a match for.
