Help Give Zelnay Another Chance at Childhood

A Bright Young Girl Refusing to Give Up Hope

Twelve-year-old Zelnay is a cheerful young girl who loves making people laugh and spending time with family and friends. Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), she has spent months in and out of hospital and is now facing intensive treatment following a relapse.

Zelnay loves playing outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and making people laugh. According to her mother, she has a personality that lights up every room she enters. One day, she hopes to become a doctor.

Her family's journey began when Zelnay started experiencing severe pain and difficulty walking. Initially, doctors believed her symptoms could be related to growing pains, a viral infection or arthritis. When her condition did not improve, further testing was done and she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

Because she was classified as a high-risk patient, Zelnay spent approximately six months in and out of hospital receiving treatment. During this time, she experienced infections and setbacks that required ongoing medical care.

Her illness has also affected her education. Frequent hospital visits and treatment meant she was unable to attend school regularly, and following her relapse earlier this year, she has once again had to put her schooling on hold while focusing on her health.

For a time, the family celebrated when Zelnay achieved remission. However, at the end of March this year, they learned that her cancer had relapsed. She is currently receiving intensive treatment and had been continuously hospitalised for more than a month at the time her story was shared.

Despite everything she has faced, Zelnay remains focused on the future. The young girl who dreams of becoming a doctor continues to hold on to that goal while navigating her treatment journey.
