Help Save Kamogelo

Help Kamogelo Find a Matching Donor

12-year-old Kamogelo has been diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia. Her ability to lead a full life relies on the kindness of a perfect stranger like you. Register to become a stem cell donor.

Described as a quiet child by his mother, Adelaide, 12-year-old Kamogelo from Mpumalanga has been dealing with an illness no pre-teen should be confronted with. Kamogelo’s ordeal started in June 2024 under his grandmother’s care in Mpumalanga, when his gogo noticed increased weakness and unexplained vomiting. Gogo took him to the local clinic where they were provided with medication and sent home.

It wasn’t until a few days later that gogo realised Kamogelo was not getting any better. Fearing the worst, Adelaide advised gogo to go back to the clinic. By now, Kamogelo was visibly pale with yellow eyes. Further medical test pointed to liver complications, as well as possible gall bladder issues.

Kamogelo was then transferred to Steve Biko in October last year where he received his Severe Aplastic Anaemia diagnosis. Kamogelo stayed in hospital for a few weeks before being discharged.

Adelaide says: “I have to be strong for my son, even on days when I myself am not strong enough. He needs me the most”. Adelaide had to take leave for four months to be able to look after her son. She hopes that her son can find a donor soon.
