Unlocking the Power of CSI: How Corporate Partnerships Help Us Recruit Lifesaving Stem Cell Donors

As part of our Sunflower Month campaign, we’re shining a spotlight on how Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives play a pivotal role in our mission to find matching stem cell donors for patients battling blood cancer. At DKMS Africa, our work centers around giving hope to patients by connecting them with potential donors. This year, we’re inviting businesses to join us on this journey—because together, we can save more lives.

Through strategic partnerships, companies can align their CSI initiatives with our lifesaving cause, helping us reach untapped donor pools and amplify our message. But this is more than just a collaboration—it's about blending purpose with corporate responsibility to create a real, lasting impact.

The Heart of Our Work

Every year, countless patients diagnosed with blood disorders wait for a stem cell match. Unfortunately, many never find one due to not finding a matching stem cell donor. Our work at DKMS Africa is focused on changing that narrative by raising awareness, conducting swab drives, recruiting donors and ultimately giving each patient a potential lifesaver. But we can’t do it alone.

Through the support of businesses that believe in the power of social responsibility, we are able to expand our reach and register more lifesaving donors. CSI programs offer the perfect opportunity for businesses to stand alongside us in our fight, transforming their values into tangible action.

Benefits of Partnering with DKMS Africa in South Africa:

  • Partnering with a non-profit organization can contribute to your company's Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) score, which is crucial for business success in South Africa.
  • Companies that engage in CSI activities are viewed more favorably by consumers. By supporting DKMS Africa, you enhance your company's reputation and show your commitment to the community.
  • Your partnership helps us recruit more stem cell donors, ultimately saving lives. This tangible impact resonates with employees, clients, and the broader community.
  • Section 18A tax certificate for donations made in support of giving hope to patients diagnosed with blood cancer and blood disorders, offering them a second chance at life.

A responsible employer recognizes the importance of corporate social responsibility. Involve your company in impactful projects that promote health and save lives.
