Hope Begins with You – Help Nolwandle

From Netball Star to Fighter – Nolwandle Needs You

Nolwandle (14) was once an unstoppable force on the netball court, a revered netball player and enjoyed the joys of childhood. But in 2024, everything changed when she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia.

It started with unexplained nosebleeds, severe fatigue, and terrifying moments -she lost consciousness. Her family watched helplessly as their once active daughter became pale and weak. Desperate for answers, they took her to a local clinic when her condition worsened. When there was no improvement, she was referred to another clinic, and soon after, transferred to a hospital. After two long weeks of tests and uncertainty, Nolwandle was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia.

This news brought fear, pain, and heartbreaking questions. Nolwandle’s family had already endured the unimaginable loss of her sister to cancer. Now, they feared history could repeat itself, gripped by the trauma of reliving the loss of a loved one which affected them emotionally and changed their lives.

Instead of spending her teenage years on the netball court, Nolwandle spends every Tuesday in the hospital, undergoing treatment. But treatment alone is not enough, she needs a blood stem cell transplant to survive.

Her life depends on finding a matching donor, someone out there who could be her second chance. She is a daughter, a sister, and a young girl with dreams and a bright future ahead of her. She deserves to laugh, play, and grow without the shadow of illness hanging over her.

Right now, countless patients like Nolwandle are holding onto hope, waiting for a lifesaving match. You have the power to be that hope. Becoming a potential donor is easy and free, but for someone like Nolwandle, it could be the difference between life and loss.
