Kinsley is a young girl living with blood cancer. At such a young age, she has already faced a difficult medical journey, but the things she loves continue to bring joy to her world.
A big fan of Halloween, Kinsley loves swimming, visiting the zoo and spending time outside in the yard with her family. As the youngest child of Samantha and Josh and little sister to Briah, she is surrounded by a family who continues to hold on to hope.
Kinsley’s medical team is optimistic about her treatment, and her family is doing everything they can to support her throughout her journey. Now, Samantha and Josh are working with DKMS to raise awareness and encourage people in their community to register as potential stem cell donors.
For patients who need a stem cell transplant, finding a suitable donor can be extremely difficult. A match depends on specific genetic characteristics inherited from our parents, meaning the person who could be a match may be a complete stranger.
Registering as a potential stem cell donor is simple. Eligible donors complete the registration form and receive a free swab kit at home. After swabbing their cheeks and returning the kit, their tissue characteristics are added to the registry, where they may be considered as a potential match for a patient in need.
A few minutes of your time could one day lead to a call that changes someone’s world.
Join #TeamKinsley. Register as a potential stem cell donor and help us find Kinsley’s match.
Remember, all costs related to the donation process are taken care of by DKMS Africa.
